The stepfather title sequence

The stepfather title sequence began differently to the Black Swan title sequence as it used live action instead of effects and animation. The sequence began with the story of the film and took us instantly into the life of the character the film is about. The title sequence instantly had tense music and the shots didn't match with the sound which gave insight that there was something not right and dodgy. The camera tracks the 'stepfathers' grooming equipment and has semantic field of the colour red which introduce the theme of violence.In this title sequence there is a tracking shot of family pictures which with the other factors of sinister objects contrasts and creates an intriguing vibe for the audience. Another contrast that it used is when the hymn of silent night is playing and all the 'family' are dead obviously been killed by the 'stepfather' which initiates an even more sinister, twisted tone and makes the viewer excited to see what lies in the rest of the film.
