Blogging health check 3
Overall I am unsatisfied with the results of the blogger health check as I have felt myself constantly working on the media project so to see to me be slightly under target is quite disheartening. I will try to achieve my targets by the end of this week to hopefully increase my mark.

QUESTION 4 - WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
This thinglink proves that 'Anna' enjoys watching not just one genre of film (as young children would not be interested in psychological thrillers), but does enjoy watching films at home as well as in the cinema. This is perfect for our film as it is independent, therefore there will be a limited amount of national screenings along with online releases including vimeo, googleplay, and itunes - meaning our audience can either go to the screening if thats what they enjoy, or can watch our film from the comfort of their own home.
In this thinglink below you can see a lot about Anna's personality. She is interested in the same things as our YouGov target audience including, the arts (e.g music), traveling, and trying new things.
Below you can see a facebook page for someone exactly of our target audience. 'Anna' is a 26 year old who shows an interest in films, books, and tv shoes of similar genre to ours. Looking at our YouGov profiles, she is the perfect example of our target audience.

Audience refers to the spectated guest watching, listening at a public event such as a film, play, concert or meeting.
Target audience refers to a particular group which a product is aimed at, for example our product was specifically aimed at young adults, we got this information from our YouGov research when we looked at the main audience for 'Black swan' and 'Donnie Darko'. Even though we gathered this information from YouGov we also conducted our own research and we have found that this genre is extremely popular with teenagers as when we conducted the public questionnaires and of general knowledge of being a teenager. However we still meet to the needs of the main target audience of young adults by adding a more mature thriller idea by adding a psychological aspect to it. The film opening we created isn't gender specific as it appeals to both. We expect both genders to be interested in this twisted plot and we intend to keep the audience drawn into the film name "Unbalance" as it indicates a question and curiosity about the film as to why a 'thriller' is named unbalance. We created a lot of suspense moments which kept the audience intrigued to watch on.
THE FINAL EDIT
IN OUR FINAL EDITING SESSION WE HAD TO PUT EVERYTHING INTO PLACE AND ENSURE A SEAMLESS SEQUENCE. AFTER FINALISING ALL THE CLIPS INTO THEIR CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, WE NEEDED TO IMPORT THE SOUND WE PLANNED ON USING. WE ACHIEVED THIS BY FINDING NO COPYRIGHTED MUSIC AND SOUND EFFECTS ON YOUTUBE AND PASTING THE URL INTO CLIP GRAB TO OBTAIN THE AUDIO. WE USED A TICKING NOISE TO ADD TO THE EFFECT OF THE ALARM CLOCK, ALONG WITH A DRONE THROUGHOUT THE SEQUENCE FOR THE INTENSITY. AFTER PLACING ALL THE SOUND EXACTLY WHERE WE WANTED, WE WATCHED THE SEQUENCE THOROUGHLY IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY ANY ANOMALIES. HERE IS A CAMTASIA OF THE PROCESS:
AFTER FEEDBACK FROM SOMEONE OF OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AGE RANGE, THEY SAID THERE SEEMS TO BE A SLIGHT INCONSISTENCY. THERE IS A TIME CHANGE TOWARDS THE END OF THE SEQUENCE WHERE IT DOESN'T REALLY MAKE SENSE AS THE PROTAGONIST APPEARS IN ONE LOCATION, THEN SUDDENLY ANOTHER. IN ORDER FOR THIS JUMP TO MAKE SENSE, WE ADDED A CROSS DISSOLVE BETWEEN THE TWO CLIPS AS THESE ARE TRADITIONALLY USED IN FILMS TO REPRESENT A CHANGE IN TIME.

Q3- What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? - not finished
Created using Visme. The Free Online Presentation Tool.
Q6- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
The technology i have found most valuable in this is definitely the camera and the editing software. The camera we used allowed us to capture great shots with great image quality and movement. The editing software allowed me to focus on improving and adding to the aspect of the genre and the tone we wanted to create. I used premier to overlap shots and create the delusional effect that gave the impression of a disturbed girl and a mental state of mind. The editing also was effective because it allowed us to clip videos and position them in order etc. When creating the ident i used an 'logo maker' and downloaded my end product onto the video drive and then imported it into after effects with a transition effect so it was able to create the breaking glass effect that we see happen to our logo " 22 Visuals". From feedback we also got back that the 'glitchy' effect was really good because it created the imaginary aspect, so that is also something that is valuable in our piece. For this i got a video from youtube of a glitch and imported it into premier and took down the opacity so it would show on the screen when the man appears but more vaguely.
Technology is extremely essential to make a title sequence without it there wouldnt be one because it relies so much on technology. At the start of this process i didnt think that technology would have played a big part of this as much in terms of editing as i assumed we would keep it simplistic by just croping clips and putting them together however through this i learnt how important and the significance of effects and layering of sounds and tech as a whole is induced in making a title sequence.

FINISHED EDITING

Smiley faces as we tick of the final check box for editing! We have finally finished this process has been very stressful and overwhelming at times definitely in the aspect of working in groups and trying to make things equal which has definitely been a struggle however because of this i found myself learning more and more about media then i thought i would and now i feel natural with using editing technology and comfortable with filming. All the hurdles has definitely made reaching the finishing line more rewarding and has built my confidence in my ability to approach media.
Evaluation and things to do for editting on the film opening
After looking through the film opening there are several things we need to improve on for the end product. Some of the things listed is what we have now altered and achieved however some of them are still things that we need to complete.
1. Add after effects to the titles and think about what type of effect on them. For this I was thinking to have the titles fall one by one once they have been on the screen to portray falling pills. Or something that comes on the screen like a fade by each letter and disappears by fading etc which I also think would suit our title piece.

2. Change the font of the title. This is because the font we have is quite delicate and formal as if it is the font used in Microsoft word. Even though from previous research we found that this type of font was used in films such as 'Memento' we have found it doesn't suit our film opening therefore we have done some extra research into fonts and our genre and we found that an alternative, unusual font works in place with our opening. I looked into other psychological thrillers and the fonts i found have an alternative font, which i feel works really well with our storyline and theme. such as silence of the lambs and seven so because of this we changed our font to this.
3. Add effects to some footage. We have completed the majority of this as we have overlapped some scenes to created a delusional effect that works perfectly for what we are trying to portray and it looks much better then what we had before. We have also added glitched videos from YouTube and decreased the opacity and put it into scenes where the mysterious man is present and we found this works really well too.
4. Add in sound. we still haven't added in all our sound which is bad because it doesn't give us the complete insight of what the film will be like and the effect it will have. We need to add in Foley and a unsettling background drone to really grasp the audiences attention and make them have the effect that we want.

This is a picture of us after we completed uploading the feedback and had received feedback from our 'Rough cut 2'. Overall we have made major improvements from the first rough cut but we still need to do more and are definitely motivated, so we will take the advice and improve from there!
PROMOTING OUR FILM DURING THE PROCESS
HERE WE HAVE MADE A ROUGH EDIT FOR OUR FILM POSTER, THIS HAS BEEN CREATED USING PHOTOSHOP BY OVERLAYING A PICTURE OF OUR PROTAGONISTS EYES WITH SCRATCH MARLS; THIS GIVES A SENSE OF ILLUSIONS AND ALSO FEAR. WE'VE USED THIS ON OUR WIX WEBSITE AND OUR TWITTER IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THE FILM; WE CHOSE THESE PLATFORMS AS OVER 65% OF OUR TARGET AUDIENCE USE SOCIAL MEDIA ON A DAILY BASIS. WE DECIDED TO PRODUCE THESE MARKETING ASSETS NOW IN ORDER TO EXCITE AND ENGAGE OUR AUDIENCE EVEN BEFORE THE FILM IS OUT - ENCOURAGING THEM TO COME TO OUR PREMIERE AT 'SCREEN ON THE GREEN'.
TWITTER
THIS TWITTER ACCOUNT DOCUMENTS OUR FILMING PROCESS ALLOWING OUR TARGET AUDIENCE TO GAIN AN INSIDE VIEW INTO THE PROCESS OF MAKING THE FINAL PRODUCT.
WIX
THIS WIX PROFILE IS THE MAIN WAY OF US PROMOTING OUR FILM AND ALSO OUR DISTRIBUTION COMPANY '22VISUALS', IT INCLUDES A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE FILM ALONG WITH HOW YOU CAN PURCHASE TICKETS TO THE PREMIERE OF THE FILM.
FEEDBACK 2
This is our feedback from class overall we were very happy and now know what we need to work on to ensure our work gets top marks. We need to start focusing on sound and the transitions for the titles in order to make our opening sequence flow seamlessly in the film.
